Step 3. What type of video output does your computer have?

Look at the back or sides of your laptop computer to see what video outputs are available. Many laptops will have VGA and S-Video output and maybe a DVI or HDMI output.

Below are pictures of the three most common video outputs found on laptop computers. Select the one you have or want to use.

S-Video. Separated Video or Super Video. For the technical details follow this link to Wikipedia. S-Video is the easiest way to way to connect a laptop to a CRT TV.
